We fundraise so we can donate. Here are some of the donations we have made recently.

Bay of Island Shoebox Campaign.
In November 2024, our members Kin Harold Bellows and Kin Cory Sheppard presented a $200 donation to the Bay of Islands Shoebox Project. This project aims to provide essential everyday items that women may require but need additional support to obtain.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Donation
In June 2025, Greg Barnes presented a $500 donation to Greg Rowsell, the Store Manager of Corner Brook, for the Jumpstart Program.

CBRH Kinsmen Scholarship
In June 2025, the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) in Corner Brook held its awards ceremony. The Kinsmen Club has provided a $500 scholarship for several years, with the recipient chosen by the CNA Committee. In 2023, the Corner Brook Kinsmen Award was renamed the Tom Coombs Memorial Award in honor of active life member Tom Coombs, who passed away that Kin year.

CNA Toms Coombs Memorial Award Scholarship
In June 2025, the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) in Corner Brook held its end-of-year awards ceremony. For several years, our Kinsmen Club has provided a $500 scholarship, with the recipient chosen by the CNA Committee. In 2023, we renamed the Corner Brook Kinsmen Award to the Tom Coombs Memorial Award in honor of Tom Coombs, an active life member who passed away during that Kin year. We wanted to recognize his dedicated hard work by naming this award in his memory.

Western Health Care Hospital Foundation
We are proud to announce a $1,000 donation to the Western Regional Hospital Foundation Radiothon. Our continued support for the foundation spans many years, during which we have contributed over $100,000 in total.

Salvation Army Food Bank
A $1,000 donation was made to the Bay of Islands Food Bank Network, which is active throughout the year, especially during the Christmas season.

Special Olympics Christmas Social.
In December 2024, the Corner Brook Kinsmen Club made a donation of $500.00.

CBRH School Band
Members Colin Pilgrim, Steve Barrow, and Lenny Benoit are presenting a $500 donation to Rebecca Major, Brooklyn Christmas, Erica Gosse, Sarah Hayes, and Leah Baker. All of the recipients are members of the Corner Brook Intermediate Concert Band and Jaxx Band. The donation will help offset the costs associated with their travel to St. John's to participate in the St. John's Rotary Arts Music Festival.

Corner Brook Curling Club
In January 2025, our club members presented a $3,000 donation to the Corner Brook Curling Club. This funding will upgrade the overhead cameras and TV monitors in the viewing area.

Echo Seniors Club
On June 2, 2025, members Kin Colin Pilgrim, Kin Cory Sheppard, and Kin Harold Bellows met with Art Hull, Elsie Lasaga, and Shirley Hull. They presented a donation of $2,000.00 to support maintenance repairs for their building.

West Side Tabernacle
A donation of $500.00 was made to the West Side Tabernacle here in Corner Brook to assist with the costs of preparing turkey dinners for Christmas morning, a tradition they have upheld for over 25 years. This contribution will help cover expenses as they prepare nearly 500 hot meals.

Girl Guides
Our Club Treasurer, Kin Colin Pilgrim, is presenting a $400.00 donation to Melissa White of the 21st Ember/Guide Unit. Contributions like this will help cover some expenses for craft and activity supplies, as well as snacks.

Kinsmen Members Corner Brook & Lewiporte
On July 6, 2025, we hosted our 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, where 29 teams participated.

SPCA
A recent donation of $500 was made to the SPCA here in Corner Brook . Pictured here is Life Member Greg Barnes presenting the donation to Francis Drover of the SPCA.

TD Summer Reading Program at CB Library
TD Summer Reading Club 2025 is a program for children of all ages and is ran in over 2200 libraries nationwide.
The Corner Brook Public Library will once again be offering this program here in Corner Brook. Last year they had 90 children registered, and they are hopeful to see growth once again this year.
Recently, we made our annual monetary donation to them which will help offset some of the costs associated to run these types of programs (activities, craft supplies, snacks, etc...), which in turn, will make sure the children have great memories of an enjoyable reading experience.

Salvation Army Food Drive Donation
The Corner Brook Kinsmen Club dropped by the Salvation Army's food bank to drop of 3 boxes of food collected from members during our last meeting as well to present a $500 donation on behalf of the Kinsmen Club, and a $100 donation on behalf of the K-40 Club.

Salvation Army Gingerbread House
Some members of our club stopped by the Valley Mall to make our annual donation of $ 500 worth of gifts for families in need.
We would also like to send a special thank you to The Salvation Army in Canada, who will distribute all gifts to those who need them the most.

KidsEatSmart Foundation
Kin Cory Sheppard presenting a $500 donation to Natasha Hynes, on behalf of the Kids Eat Smart Foundation, where every dollar raised is a breakfast for one child a day in the School's breakfast programs.

Humber Valley Community Employment Corporation
HVCEC provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities to ensure that their needs are met, and they can continue to be successfully employed. Pictured is Kin Cory Sheppard presenting on behalf of the Club, the cheque to Darlene Brown, Executive Director for the HVCEC.

Hurricane Fiona Disaster Relief
With the devastation that Hurricane Fiona left in its path on the Southwest Coast of the island, The Corner Brook KinsmenClub made a donation to the relief efforts to help with their rebuilding stages.
Kin Peter Saunders visited Port aux Basques and made a cheque presentation on behalf of our club to Major Dave Harvey of The Salvation Army Church Family Port aux Basques in the Amount of $5000.

Immaculate Heart of Mary School
Life Member Greg Barnes presenting a $400 donation to Mr. Ron Hancock of Immaculate Heart of Mary School who will soon be traveling along with 45 students from Grade 6-12 to St. John's for the Intermediate Skills Challenge.
